Ch11 - Bloody Safe RoomA Chapter by SinTrustlessA safe room is only safe, if the assassin cannot get in.
Purpura came to the next estate, there were guards everywhere.
Large brutish men. The other family relied on magic, and their mental techniques... This family relied on physical torture, and brute force. He moved quietly, wondering how such a physical family created the soft spoken lad that hired him. Perhaps he was afraid of them. Purpura had no trouble getting inside. The guards were brutish, and not bright. He entered what he could guess was a ballroom. Likely the door allowed guests access to the garden during balls. He stayed sprinted across, and peaked thru a door. More guards. For whatever they lacked in brains they made up for in sheer numbers. Purpura pulled the girl's picture, and looked at the back. 13 Not nearly as busy this family. Or perhaps less inclined to long lives. Didn't matter. He looked about, how was he to know a family member from a guard? This family was known for a brutish appearance, much like their guards. He began to move back, when suddenly he heard all the guards move at once. He looked back, they were at attention. Walking thru the room was a man, though largely built he had an elegance to him. Defiantly a target, but to attack the man in a room of guards. Definite disadvantage... He'd save the man for later. He went off, to a different door. He peaked thru, and simply saw staff. It was a kitchen pass, allowing for staff to enter and exit to serve little treats or drinks to guests. They looked like they were preparing for something. Perhaps a ball was planned. It would likely be cancelled. Purpura quietly moved thru the room, before exiting to a hallway. He kept low, watching about. He focused, locating a set of heartbeats. He moved along, before opening the door. Inside was a man and two women. The women appeared to be twins. And were dressed in an appearance similar to geisha. The man looked and spotted Purpura, "Hide girls!" the man exclaimed. The girls looked to Purpura, before smiling. One moved behind the man, before covering his mouth with one hand. And holding him in place with her other arm. She had light brown hair, and matching eyes. The other girl spoke, "Hey, Purpura. Fancy seeing you here." Purpura gave a small polite bow, to this girl. The two girls were clearly identical twins. Except the one who spoke had darker hair, and eyes. The man looked confused. "You here for him specifically, or the whole family?" He held his hand up, and made a small circle motion. "Ah, well we wont stand in your way. But, if you could leave this one to us. He was on the verge of sharing a little info with us." Purpura shrugged, and left the room, to continue on. Still inside the girl released the man's mouth. "Good job girls, you tricked him." the man said. The girl who'd spoken went over and stood in front of the man. "Tricked? You misunderstand. We could never trick our brother. He's always taken good care of us. Tricking him would be rude." The man looked horrified. The girl leaned in and smiled, "Now, if you tell us about the little mining operation, we can make your death painless. Otherwise..." The other girl spoke quietly from behind, "We may have picked up a couple techniques from the sessions you were so excited to let us watch." Purpura kept moving having eliminated two targets. Plus the one the girls had, that was three down. Leaving ten. He moved quietly, then heard someone approaching. Purpura jumped behind a curtain, as a small group came down the hall. "Sir, please calm down." "I will not, put everyone on high alert." "But sir, why? They killed our rivals. You should be excited." "No. The timing is weird. Plus, a daylight execution? No, I suspect someone is headed this way. Get the entire family to the safe room. Immediately!" Purpura let them leave, and had a rather cruel idea. He began following one man, not from the family, just a lackey. The lackey went to a room, and spoke to the people inside. They then began to leave. The lackey hurried off, but Purpura followed the people. They were of the family, but he wanted to know where this 'safe room' was. He followed to three people, a woman and two children. They came to a door, and the woman waved her hand over a box. The door opened magically, and they went in. Purpura waited outside the door, and let it close. He focused and could still sense the woman's blood. Perfect. He'd long ago learned that a safe room was a perfect kill box. If, you could get in, after everyone else did. He waited patiently, and soon others came. Mirroring the hand wave, and entering. Soon there were nine people inside. All that awaited was the head of the house. But it would be more fun to surprise him. So, Purpura focused and took control of a woman. She was already near the door. So he made her simply move closer. Likely the other patrons were confused by her act. She may even be shouting in protest herself. But that didn't matter. She waved her hand over the box inside, and the door opened. Purpura charged in, and the door shut behind him. There was instant panic in the room. Even the women were largely built. Was the lad adopted? It didn't matter. He began a simple slaughtering mad house. None of these people were at all prepared for an assassin. Finally the room was coated in blood. Nine corpses scattered about. Purpura sat down in a chair in the back. He just had to wait for the head. Wouldn't this surprise him? Purpura leaned back and looked up at the ceiling. On the ceiling were pitch black streaks, completely out of place with the room's decor. He stared at the ceiling, until the door opened. The master of the estate had walked a step in. Purpura looked to him. "Wha- how- No, it doesn't matter. You wont escape." The man began to step out, and Purpura froze him in place. Purpura got up, and forced the man to walk a few steps further in. The man's steps made a disgusting squish sound, as he stepped in blood. Purpura got up, and walked up to the man. Then walked around him, and walked out of the room. He stood outside the door. The blood on the floor began to move, and the head of the estate had control of himself once again. He turned back to Purpura. And began to step, but his feet were trapped by the blood. The man shouted, "Fight me in fair combat assassin!" Purpura felt himself chuckle, 'fair combat' was not an assassin's style. Suddenly the blood on the floor surged up, and forced it's self into the man's mouth. The man's eyes went wide, as more forced itself in. It stopped and the blood dripped from the man's mouth. The man then collapsed to the ground. What a way to die, suffocated by the blood of your loved ones. Purpura let the door close, before wondering if his sisters were actually done. They knew how to handle themselves. He had clients to meet with, to confirm accomplishment of the contract. Purpura walked up to a tree, where the lad and girl were sitting. They seemed a good match. Not that Purpura was a good judge of these things. Their blood types were compatible? He didn't care. He was an assassin, not a match maker.
They got up, "So it's finished?" The girl asked. Purpura nodded, gently. "Perfect, then there is no one to object to our wedding!" The lad nodded, and the two hugged and gently kissed. "We should have the wedding now!" the girl exclaimed. The lad agreed, "But we've no one to witness." The girl looked to Purpura. "Purpura, would you witness our wedding?" Purpura rolled his eyes, and walked away. © 2015 SinTrustless |
