For This I Now Pray

For This I Now Pray

A Poem by Janice

Her first love has left  and has gone for good

Soon after stealing her heart, then her womanhood

He left with the sounds of laughter, while wearing a bastardly grin

With this her life is now sent into a horrifying tailspin

Left alone to continuously wonder how she’ll ever get over him

Since, many months have slowly lingered and passed her by

As she once again wipes the tears from her saddened eyes

So she sits in the hall, where the welcomed company of darkness and silence is found

Her head buried deep within her knees, as she desperately looks down

She pleads as she speaks to God up above...

“Please help me Lord, help me to learn how to love.

My baby who will be born in just a few more days

To this single and broken hearted mother, O’ Lord, please show me the way

Teach me, help me, and guide me with your love,

for these things I pray, O' God above!”
