Hearing Beauty

Hearing Beauty

A Poem by Janice

Hearing Beauty

Although I live in a world of complete darkness, as I can no longer see

My keen sense of hearing has now become second nature to me...

Some of these things I hear as beauty, others may consider just noise

But to me these sounds fill the air with such wonderful joys…

As ….

I hear the bird’s chirping above as they soar and fly

I hear the sounds of a new born baby’s cry

I hear the melodies that the Weeping Willow sings

I hear the change of seasons that next month brings

I hear a flower as it begins to blossom and come to life

I hear a loving man embracing his lovely wife

I hear the mime who says nothing at all

I hear a tree in the distance as it begins to fall

I hear the clouds up above moving trough the sun lit sky

I hear the sounds of others footsteps as they merrily pass me by

I hear a puppy licking its owners face

I hear a child’s laughter that no other sound can ever replace

I hear so many things that allow me to see

All the things that are no longer visible to me

I’m so thankful that it was my vision that I lost, and not my ears

As I can always see the true beauty... in all that I hear!
