An Angels Dream

To angels gates they flew off with you
And left me behind to start anew
But my life as well seems over now
I try to cope but not sure how

I miss your company and your sweet embrace
I miss your love and your lovely face
I miss your laughter and your beautiful smile
I miss the way you made me feel worthwhile

I'm left here alone now, but not sure why
I know I'm blessed to be alive, but now I want to die
I want to share eternity with you by my side
And share our wings as we glide
Through the clouds, as we soar up above
I want to share God's world, with you my love

So for now while I wait for him to call out my name
Every day will be spent just the same
I will sit here patiently while I dream of you
My darling, my angel, my dream come true

This is a sad write dear Janice..it shows lots of faithfulness ,he must have been a great guy
and thats the least to wish for,to wish to leave this life and join him where ever he be
though dear I am sure as much as he loved you ,he would have wanted you to enjoy
your life fully after him,I am sure it would make him so happy knowing you are doing
quite alright after him..as I see it the more you lead a normal happy life, you are honoring his
wishes and doing just as he would like..that was a very kind and lovely write
it shows how love could be so faithful in both sides of the world..in life and death
lovely write..

Wow. That's kinda all i could think after i read this. It's so heartbreakingly sad and yet there's hope and love infused into every line. This was definitely a great poem and the picture complemented it so well.

That is a very beautifully bittersweet interpretation of the pic... I remember years ago when my grandfather died my grandmother died within 6 months of what they called a broken heart. When two people share there life for so long you really become one heart. Needless to say I love the poem.

VERY lovely! The rhythm isn't perfect, but the wording is endearing. Another heartwarming (yet sad!) piece based on this picture. Thanks again for entering the contest!

What a fantastic write. It's really well composed and flows well. There's so many loved ones passed I fell this way about. You illustrated it with your words beautifully. I just love the faithfulness in God and your love worded in the third stanza. Thank you for the great read.

This poem is really really great :)
it touches, deeply... And if its reflecting personal experience, Im sorry for your loss.

(one note, soar is misspelled) other than that, what a BEAUTIFUL piece.
