A Soldiers Prayer

A Soldiers Prayer

A Poem by Janice

Forgive me my Lord for I have sinned
I’ve killed innocent children, elders, women and men

I was forced into action as my country demands
To protect our nations freedom of this beautiful land

I have gone into battle with a nothing but prayer and a gun
Forgive me Lord for the horrific damage I’ve done

I’ve gunned down solders and killed with own my bare hands
Hoping soon they will soon raise the white flag and come to understand

That we are all but people that share somewhat different views
As propaganda continues to create more hated, as it fills the nightly news

I want so badly to lay my weapons down
Unto the field of this bloody battleground

I want to see the beauty that you crated once again before my eyes
And never again hear the horrifying sounds of battle cries

I want peace to be a word that is spoken world wide
I pray for this daily as to many people have already died

I want to live long enough to see my loving  family once again
Please forgive me my Lord, for I have sinned!

this is very nicely written ..
oh yes soldiers do defend their country from evils, from dangers coming from threatening evil forces that present a danger to my land..
i was drafted ..compulsory draft maybe three times.i was young and did not know whats going on ..and then i began to tell and ask where am i ..and i knew i was not in a battle field but in a butchery for human kind..i was called to the commander and was rebuked fiercely for a behaviour so unfit for a patriot i was called a traitor and slandered in every word ..i could easily get hanged..but fortunately was sent to a solitary prison..where i suffered all kinds of torture but i was so happy for i never killed the guy..blood of others innocent could never find its way to my hands and soul..i want to to be able to live a serene life and sleep my nights without nightmares..that i could do ..i still have peace with myself..i ill never do whatever i am told..
oh yes soldiers never the less have nothing to do with the death of so many others..they just follow orders of superiors..who tell them to kill and they kill..which should never be the case
i have followed wars all through history..all did not have any meaning or any sound reason ..but they took lives of so many innocence..thats the way so the big industries of war and weapons to flourish through the death of so many innocent people ..their hopes and dreams ..and leaving their families and children..
it should never be the case that way..i agree with you soldiers have nothing to blame ..but even them..i feel sorry for them ..i have seen some documentaries of American soldiers who came back from war ..only to live very abnormal life..full of nightmares and bad dreams..they could never forget what they have done ..
life is very precious no one is allowed to take it but God who has given it
i loved your write since its very thoughtful and very wise
