The Forbidden JourneyA Poem by Janice
My love, you must leave me now for sickness has alas taken your final breath
But I will not let you go in silence, nor alone
Instead, I will walk beside you within your shadow
For we will always face our journeys together as one
I must also leave my life behind me now
As I shall never abandoned you
You have become a part of my soul
Without you I can no longer breathe
I can not bear to never awaken again to your smile, your warmth, your touch
We shall now lie together beneath the shaded trees
And where we once shared our love
We will now share in death
So let the wind blow and the leaves blanket us in their beauty
Your shoulder now my pillow
Your lips rest softly upon my head
And whom ever shall stumble upon us
Will know that our lives have never really ended
But have onlyt merely just begun
