Lovely Shade of GreyA Poem by TannerI feel my life
passing, as little more than a blur No today, no
tomorrow, no love, no hurt Much like the
grey shades in masquerades, The ones that
could never flatter, I'm standing in
a crowd, doing my best to matter I watch the
reds, the blues, the yellows, the golds Catching every
eye with the warmth of their tones My eyes too
drift across the floor When I suddenly
see her Red like no
other rose I have seen before She takes a
step, a second, a third Her eyes somehow
find me, as she stops and turns Towards me, she
slowly makes her way And when she
arrives, towards me she starts to say © 2012 TannerAuthor's Note
