Heartless Things

Heartless Things

A Poem by Savannah Sawyer
"

Just a poem about getting over what others think and finally doing my own thing *contains a swear word*

"
Like a cat, a silent stalker, weaving through the trees
Dodging blows, and heavy stones, that could bring her to her knees
But truth be told, this persons me,
And these are words I'm fighting
I've given up, run out of spots
I've always relied on hiding
I've stood up, I've voiced myself
I've showed them who I am
They can whisper heartless things
But I'm done giving a damn

This reminds me of the saying, "Those Who Mind, Don’t Matter ... Those Who Matter, Don’t Mind," meaning real friends love you for you, trash-talkers/gossipers/"haters" don't matter.
This one hit home a bit so yeah, I definitely liked it!
