Sit, Watch, and Wonder

Sit, Watch, and Wonder

A Poem by SimplyOlivia

We sit

We watch

We wonder why

Sit and think for a while

Think of the days

Where nights were spent

In lovers’ arms

Watch.

Watch as the days go by

Watch as your children grow

Watch in disbelief as they turn from young to old

Finally comes the wondering

Wonder where the time went

Wonder why things grow old

Wonder who will be there when you die

Wonder what the day the end will come

Wonder when does St. Peter open the Pearly White gates?

We sit.

We watch.

We wonder why.

Don`t you wonder if maybe it was just a day ?

If perhaps the sunset of your youth was the
blast off from the real earth and the why of
gorwing old was only a dream sequence within
a part of the great day ?

Don`t you wonder why people think of "old" when
it was only a day ? Now the day is coming to an end
and there are still all these loose ends ?

Somebody made a serious error in judgment when they
measured time. A second is just a heart-beat when everybody
knows it is a lifetime.
Why is it that you are unconscious when you sneeze ? Is it perhaps,
a transitional period , a period in which the essence of life changes
position, except you you and I ?
I am sorry, you had the right idea, you changed our very existance
to a poem and in your poem we transited this planet and laid the
foundation for another.
Thank you ,
---- John
