Blood and Tears

Blood and Tears

A Poem by SimplyOlivia

Tears fall as I mourn my lost love

My lover doesn’t want me

Blood flows through my veins

To my aching heart

How that is I do not know

For my cold, dead heart does not live

My love still loves me

I’m convinced it’s true

And I, I still love him

I hide behind my anger and hate

Only to push back the wrought-iron gate

That holds my tears that flow free

Just like me and my love used to be

And the blood that course through my veins

To my cold, dead heart

Flows just as free.
