Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

A Poem by SimplyOlivia

The holiday season is here

Time for cooking is near.

Turkey and stuffing

Marshmallow cream is puffing.

Snow falls softly and slowly.

The pure white snow looks holy.

The table graced with food.

This is not the time to be rude.

Dinner begins.

Save room for the twins.

After dinner, bellies are stuffed.

The new car is buffed.

Men go take a look.

Women sit to read a book.

The children begin to play.

They beg their grandparents to stay.

Everyone begins to leave.

All the cars begin to weave.

In and out of traffic they go.

The winds blows trees to and fro.

Prayers are given to the dead and the living.

Everyone is thankful this Thanksgiving.

Nice writing. I think your poem described Thanksgiving perfectly...except the "women sit to read a book" line. We're always too busy cleaning up the Thanksgiving mess for that! :)

Sometimes, people say to describe yourself in one word. My word is interesting. I am like a diamond, multi-faceted but still see-through but beautiful to look at and desired, not to mention expensive... more..
