The SouthA Poem by SimplyOliviaSweet hay Clean rain Fresh cut grass And Fireflies dancing in the night Sounds like summer in the South Sweet tea Potato salad And gold fried chicken Sounds like a meal in the South Cowboy hats Cowboy boots And leather chaps Sounds like a boy from the South An old guitar A country boy And a deep sweet accent Sounds like music from the South The South is my home I miss my Tennessee Home The South is where I was Born and Raised The South is where I belong I belong on a farm With the animals And the good country boys bringin’ the cattle ‘round There ain’t nothing like a Sweet Southern Summer At my Sweet Southern Home After a hearty Sweet Southern Meal Which is nothing without Sweet Tea from the South Straight from a Mason jar from the Deep South On a Sweet Southern Night With my own Sweet Southern Country Boy Ain’t nothing compares to that The South is where I belong. © 2012 SimplyOlivia |
