Whispers
02.01.10

I have heard the words
“just not ready”
in many familiar voices

I have reached through the clouds
peeked into paradise
the realm of the giants
the textures, the tastes
burned into my memory

I have snapped awake
with the after-image shimmering
behind squinting eyes
a shiver replayed
with each clutching fugue
leaving the present
abandoned

I cannot decide
whether the heart on my sleeve
is sincerely irresponsible
or just irresponsibly sincere

I’m not hoping for declarations
heralding a riper time
or cut-out confessions
stuck to tongues
that know not their truth

I will know her by the silence
of a dream
wide awake

Bravo.

It's descriptive enough I could see it in my head. Very Good.
