Epitaph

Epitaph

A Poem by J.E.B
"

The dead sees all

"

Eyeing from doorway, I can’t believe I’m 37 years old

Mama said “You were born on August 23, 1994”

How is it ‘am 37 years old?

Am I that old or am I readin’ wrong epitaph?

Am sure that’s my epitaph, the dead sees all

But what if…?

No! This is Hades’ work ‘coz of my sinless life

Eyeing again from doorway, the epitaph is wrong

Epitaph says, “Loving son, husband, and friend”

Why’s no mention of “loving father?”

Am I fruitless or am I readin’ wrong epitaph?

Am sure Ashley and John are mine

But what if…?

No! This is Hades’ work ‘coz of my sinless life.

Something is missin’, my epitaph is missin’

We Are All Jokes,” my final wish

Why is my epitaph missin’ the words?

She assured they’ll be there or am I readin’ wrong epitaph?

Am sure she did it, she loves me

But what if…?

No! This is Hades’ work ‘coz of my sinless life.

Hades, why did you’ve to mess with my epitaph?

Are you that mad that Zeus chose me?

I know helping is good, sinless life is better

Am sure I’m going to Olympus Hades

Wait a minute, but what if…?

No! I won’t be your companion Hades
