Star Shaped Balloons

Star Shaped Balloons

A Poem by Simpleselwah

Staring at a face in the mirror

wonderful, it doesnt look like mine

This face is too ugly and queer

Wonderful, what changed? what cant i find?

Im slowly pushing faces away

Great, when will i push mine

Theres something out of place

and i somehow missed the sign

I'd point the finger but i know the facts

You cant blame them without pointing back

Staring aimlessly in space

wonderful, why cant i inhabit this place

alone with no one to race

Colourful, Like Crayons Filling the gray

If i push forward promise you wont push back

Floating above me are star shaped balloons

Drifting lonely, Freely as id assume

weightless gravity Fills each corner of the room

Like a star shaped balloon we'll float away too

If i push forward promise you wont push back

Withering below me were all the people who could not fly

But ill float on down and show them whats inside

Spawn your wings your strong i know it, i can see it in you eyes

Soon we'll float on up like a star shaped balloon or a butterfly

Like a star shaped balloon we'll float away soon (8x)
