Life Before Covid Outbreak.A Poem by Simoni Khanna ChilupuriAs the title says, this poem is directed towards how things changed in a flash of moments.
Nature takes it's revenge,
I heard it somewhere in my teenage. Never knew I'd have witnessed this coming so soon. Everything was calm and settling until this disastrous day of pandemic outbreak. Some were trying to cope up with their busy lives whereas some others were trying to find employment so as to meet their daily needs. And here I was, not knowing the purpose of my life, finding it difficult to wake up early and get ready for school. I saw a pretty much easy going lifestyle and carefree people back then. I saw people on streets with no masks on, enjoying their lives going to parties and inviting people home. Now, I see people with fright wanting to be safe and alive. I, also see people craving to step out of house, and fly high like a bird as if the world is come to an end. It's strange how situations get a hold of people's lives. The one who abhorred going to school is the exact same person wanting to explore new things. The one who's been a procrastinator all his life Is the only one wanting to get things done to his earliest. I see my pop working day and night for a living, regardless of this pathetic outbreak and here I see myself doing nothing but to weigh my head down and think what I'd do to pass all day. © 2020 Simoni Khanna ChilupuriAuthor's Note
