Numb

Numb

A Poem by Simone Davis
"

An air of hollowness, emptyness feeling so numb

"
My heart beats fast
Numb
The sound of a pin drop illuminates this space.
It's narrow ahead, no souls around but you
Listen to the sweet betrayal of ones mind.
Knocking, chanting battering ones subconscious.
The hearts blue frozen to the core desperately holding onto every breath.

My body longing a gentle touch, bleeding out the pain echos my decapitated heart.

Hollow eyes, caged broken yearning to free this burning disgrace.

Seems fear and betrayal either from someone or to someone are paintful to endure. Even your poetry seems to be tortuning you - no calm near enough to ease your stress . 'The hearts blue frozen to the core desperately holding onto every breath. Dramatic, raw, emotional.. near fatal.

I'm wondering but I am also aware of that feeling as to why you picked the word "disgrace". The rest you hold your breath while reading and wait for shallow breaths to follow and then that long release of a sigh, just knowing ...poetry by every measure. Keep writing and thanks~

This is a very visceral piece of writing as well as emotive. One can feel the angst of each sentence and internalize it to memories they may have had that brought them closer to their despair. Good job Simba and thanks for sharing your work.
