Love lessonsA Poem by Simone DavisWhen loves not enough
It was me who loved with every breathe of my soul
who gave every single ounce of energy to you Me who tried when trying was so hard It was me that cried when you said you’d found a new love We tried to make it work but it wasn’t the same I’m Struggling to hold you dear Struggling to maintain the life we were meant to live. I’m struggling to see things clear even in that year when spirits were high with seasons cheer I pushed you away and wouldn’t let you close I couldn’t forgive so made us row up until now The decision that love was not enough was so tough and said I’d go for the sake of your very own heart © 2018 Simone DavisReviews
