Happy ThoughtsA Poem by Simon J HallidayToday's Poem
Happy Thoughts
What we need are happy thoughts You won't get far with other sorts A joyful mind has chance to grow To places where the rest can't go These crazy times we know too well Despondent people never sell A brooding soul may have some charm But check the nature of his psalm A warning comes when reaching out And yet it's best to have no doubt The ancient blessing holds its course The change we need, we mustn't force So in our busy, hectic lives A ray of hope at last arrives No cost at all, despair retorts When faced with endless happy thoughts (c) Simon J.
