The Way We Were

The Way We Were

Take time to think on how things are
And whether things have come so far
Some change we welcome, some deter
We're different than the way we were

Which forces act to change our lives?
So busy in our restless hives
Outside the door things move each day
We might not know, we might not play

The current stream may not look good
Is life progressing as it should?
Who has the answer?  Where's the clue?
The answer must begin with you

Then look inside and plot your course
For things to change we need a force
Our actions now will bring next year
So act in love, destroying fear

The future's where we all are bound

Yet memories are all around

The past had value, thoughts can stir

Reflecting on the way we were
