BoxesA Poem by Simon J HallidayToday's Poem
Boxes
Boxes everywhere I go And what's inside them? Who could know? Surprises are in store for all Some may be great, and some quite small All this a chance to show we care With happy times to give and share And yet remember, love won't come At any price, it has no sum For things of this world come and go And all will finally have to know That happiness is beyond the place Where pain or joy's seen on a face The passing years are teaching well That some may find a way to sell Their dreams in great, fantastic form So others may around them swarm But think with care this Christmastime With every penny, yen or dime The money we use is just for show So easily dropped in fallen snow And by the lights and shining trees We might take quietly to our knees Remembering why the wise kings came For all these boxes aren't the same (c) Simon J.
