We Will Not RestA Poem by Simon J HallidayToday's Poem
We Will Not Rest
We will not rest until we're through There's far too much for us to do Unceasing in the quest we serve From all its needs we will not swerve Although Rome took more than a day It wasn't built by looking away Each detail needed focussed thought Success was worked for, and thus brought A brief reprise from time to time Then pushing forward, fighting grime And washing decay from every place In hope to see a smiling face For every act and chore we do Will help in ways we never knew We're worth more than we'd ever believe Great hopes are here we must achieve So listen to people who move out And get things done, not scream and shout The lazy never will be blessed Then let's beware of too much rest (c) Simon J.
