DreadnoughtA Poem by Hunter C. BrownThe floorboards creek, The waves smash. Soldiers run frantically to their battle stations aboard the dreadnought, All because they near their destination. On the island people run frantically too, But for different reasons. They run, Because they see that the dreadnought is approaching. But as the enormous boat comes nearer, The islanders know it is too late. So, They turn to fight. When the boat draws near enough, It fires the first shot. And the battle begins.
