You Saw Me

You Saw Me

A Poem by Jm Simtek

You Saw Me

When I was in the jungle

Charlie couldn’t see me

He found Jackson and Lopez

Then he took Farmer’s legs

And most of that kid Danny’s face

Now here at home

No one can see me

I walk the streets alone

The sea of people part

When I walk through a crowd

I’m like an unseen wind

Then you saw me

From inside the crowd

You looked at me with pity

And revulsion

Then I became invisible again
