First Kiss

First Kiss

A poem about an unforgettable first kiss.

First Kiss

Sparks fly like fireworks when our lips meet.

Butterflies swarm when we touch.

You make my heart run a marathon to catch up with my lost breath.

Our first kiss was an unforgettable one.

The scent of vanilla and the taste of apples makes it so much sweeter,

But not quite as sweet as you.

I didn’t have to overthink a thing,

Because kissing you comes so naturally.

You surprised me when I leaned in,

By leaning in too,

I told you I had other ways of shutting you up,

But you weren’t the only one left speechless.

We were both tired and a little loopy,

But we didn’t care if everyone around us stared,

They all faded away when we made that moment ours,

It was just me and you sharing a first kiss that soon turned into a couple more.

My eyes were glued to you,

Because I couldn’t help but wonder if you felt it afterwards too,

You never told me either way,

You just let me kiss you again which said all we needed to say.

I put an I love you into every kiss,

And every heartbeat beat in sync to our favorite love songs.

I know it’s only been a day,

But you’re the girl whose kiss I already miss.

With one single out of the blue action,

You left me dazed and full of this crazy love attraction.

Something special happened on that night,

I felt my love soar to new heights, when we had our first goodnight love filled kiss.
