Cheesy MomentsA Poem by SilverwolfA poem about the small moments that matter the most.Cheesy Moments Those moments that
seem small at the time, But turn out to be
the biggest. The ones that seem so
unimportant from the outside looking in, Mean the most in our
hearts. When we picked those
flowers from the ground, And gave them to each
other with silly smiles spread across our faces. It seemed like just
another stitch in the fabric of time, But we will never
forget how they smelled. When we sat close
enough that our shoulders touched, And listened to
over-the-top love songs. Singing along like a
couple of tone deaf drunks that most people would try to forget, But we’ll never
forget how bad we sounded. When we bought that
bottle of cheap cider from the supermarket, Because we wanted to feel
fancy and have some fun, To some that seems so
stupid, But we’ll never forget
how smooth it went down. Or that time we
danced under the stars, Like a pair of
left-footed losers. It might look silly, But we’ll never
forget how right it felt. Remember the time we
curled up to watch that movie, How we could feel little
fires lighting up wherever we touched. We played it off like
it was normal, But we’ll never
forget how good those burns felt the next day. And when we spent and
still spend hours talking on the phone, Hanging on to each
and every word like it could be the last we ever hear. People might say it
sounds like an inconvenience, But we’ll never
forget how big our smiles were on the other end. How about when we
went out to eat that day, And we fed each other
cake without a second thought, like it was natural, Even we thought it
was a little silly, But we’ll never
forget how it tasted. Then there was the
night we held each other, Like we couldn’t get
enough, You walked away
leaving my blankets smelling like vanilla, and to another that might not seem
like much, But we’ll never
forget how happy we were. Those cheesy moments
others pass off so easily, Are the memories that
we’ll hold on too. They make us smile every time they come up, And even if other
people never understand them, we’ll never forget. © 2016 Silverwolf |
