Skipped A Beat

Skipped A Beat

A Poem by Silverwolf

A poem about powerful unstoppable love.

Skipped a Beat

That pitter patter in my chest,

Went silent,

When I saw you in that dress,

Love I must confess, that my heart skipped a beat.

Often you hear about my speedy pulse.

But tonight somethings different,

The moment you stepped into the room,

My entire world froze, and my awestruck heart went silent.

Now usually when you’re around the thumping in my chest is violent.

But now every time our eyes meet,

I can’t seem to breathe,

And I can’t feel my heartbeat.

If I had the chance,

I would’ve told you how gorgeous you were all night long.

But I was cut silent,

By the feeling of my heart skipping tracks like a broken record.

Now I’ve met girls,

Who could make me act like a fool,

And who’ve made me feel things I’ve never felt,

But I’ve never known a girl who could make my heart skip a beat.

But when I held your hand,

I finally began to understand,

What my heart was trying to tell me.

That my heart was under lock, and that you are my key.

So darling I’ll do anything,

Just to feel that feeling.

The feeling of not being able to breathe,

I want to see you every day, so I relive the feeling of the night my heart skipped a beat.
