Butterflies

A poem about uncontrollable love.

Butterflies

 

My knees are shaky,

Stomach’s all tied up in knots,

I think that I may have caught,

The butterflies.

All I have to do is hold your hand,

Or stare into your eyes,

And it feels like there’s a fireworks show going off inside me,

I can feel them, the butterflies.

Even when you’re not around,

I can hear and feel the sound,

The fluttering of a thousand wings beating in sync to my heartbeat,

The sound of butterflies.

Seeing that sweet smile of yours,

Sends me into a monarch madness,

Just being around you rids me of all sadness,

Thanks to you I have butterflies.
