Take Your Time

Take Your Time

A poem about love worth waiting for.

Take Your Time

Darling we can take things slow,

There’s no need to rush.

I just want to make you mine,

But I don’t mind waiting, so take your time.

I’ll just keep standing,

Not making a single move.

Because you’re worth all the waiting in the world,

You’re not like any other girl.

And I’ll admit we’ve had our problems,

I won’t try and tell a lie.

We’ve had our fair share of struggles,

But you’re worth all that strife.

So the clocks might as well slow down,

Because I’m not going anywhere.

I’ll be here as long as you want me.

I swear if you ask I’ll never leave.

You’re the one true thing in which I believe,

This love will never die.

We might as well be immortal,

Because I’ll spend forever trying to be your guy.

So do whatever you have to do,

To make up your mind.

I’ll be here writing you a thousand poems,

I swear I won’t leave you behind.

I don’t mind sitting here for centuries,

Watching the seasons go by.

That’ll just give me more time to think about you,

So I know I’ll be ready in the spring time.

And when you’re around,

Everything seems to change,

All the snow melts away, and the bluest skies seem even more blue,

You bring with you you’re favorite season, so that we can watch the roses and daisies bloom.

So I’ve said it before,

And I don’t want to seem repetitive,

But you’re worth every sour second,

So take your time.
