Decided To Fly

 

Sitting in a crowded airplane

                         That babies’ crying is giving me a migraine

Drinking my fill just to keep myself sane

But that’s when I caught your eye

 

It was only for a second or two

But I got lost in your baby blues

Then we looked away way too soon

Now I’m already planning my next move

 

I set down my drink

And made a gamble

I walked right over to you and tried not to ramble

When I asked if I could sit in that lone seat right by you

 

Your smile warms me up like sunlight

And you nod your head

Now I’m smiling like a fool, because I get to sit so close to you

Making my heart catch fire, but I’m just trying to keep my cool

 

Now we’re just flying along

Laughing and singing old love songs

I can’t seem to take my eyes off you

And judging from the look in your eye, you’re feeling it too

 

Now I can’t hear that baby

Cus’ I’m too busy listening to your soft breathing

Laying on my shoulder like sleeping beauty

This is turning into the best flight of my life

 

Fast forward a couple hours later

We’ve been falling in love to the sound of jet engines

But soon this flight is ending

Landing in Paris in just a minute or two

 

We hit the ground and those engines die

People walking out the door in a single file line

Except for me and you

Sitting here staring into each other’s eyes

 

Before I can even get a word out

Your lips land on mine

You tell me that you don’t know what to do

So I smile as bright as I can as say, “Whatever you want as long as it’s me and you”

 

I take your hand in mine

Leading you into the city of love

We’re gonna have the time of our lives, together forever

And I’m just glad I decided to fly
