Can't Get Out

Can’t Get Out

It’s like we’re stuck

In a cage we just can’t escape

Trying not to let our eye meet

Because we both know what that means

The minute those pretty blue-greens of yours make contact

My pulse beats fast and I get a little bit stronger

But you make every wall of mine crumble

We give into the moment and let all our defenses drop

You’re like a drug

One I just can’t quit

No matter how many times I tell myself I’ve moved on

Every time I get you alone I lose all my common sense

And who could blame me?

When we’re over here sitting closer than we should

Your pretty little head on my shoulder

My arm wrapped around you, never gonna let go

It seems like Fate just can’t let me leave

Holding on to you is a magical thing

And my heart can’t seem to heal itself

Because it just keeps pumping love for you

And maybe it’s self-destructive to keep holding on

But I just can’t bring myself to unlock this cage

So sign me up for this apocalypse

Because even with the key in my hand I can’t get out
