The Rush

The Rush

The Rush

Head’s pounding like a kick drum

Adrenaline racing through my veins

I’ve gone from frozen to melted in seconds

As blood burns straight through my heart

It’s a shame that I’ve lived life

Without ever really living

It’s a shame that I’ve felt

Without ever really feeling

It seems like I’ve been ignorant for centuries

Never really knowing what love is

I never thought I’d enjoy losing a race

To the breath I just can’t catch

Never thought I’d love the pain

That these bruised lips bring

Never thought I’d live for

The feeling of ten thousand volts running through my body

How you do this to me I will never know

But then again why would I ever ask?

All I need to know, all I ever need to know

Is that I’ve never felt this way before and I want to for the rest of my life

All it takes in a touch

The feeling of the aphrodisiac that is your kiss

To quicken my pulse, and make my heart heard

Because the rush that is your love is better than any drug
