ANGEL

 

You’re like the sun in the sky

Bringing warmth and joy to all who see you

A simple smile making me want to stretch my devil wings and fly

I’m not sure what loving is but I think you can show me how to

 

Those innocent eyes drawing me in like a moth to a flame

But you ascend so much so much higher above me while I remain imprisoned by my chains of sin

My one wish is for us to be the same

However you will forever be my better, much to my chagrin

 

That invisible halo you didn’t even know you had

Makes you truly stand out from the crowd

When I am with you it’s impossible to be sad

So my gorgeous unattainable girl, spread your snow white wings and fly proud

 

I have been scarred and broken

By devils and demons both inside and out

But thanks to you my sleeping heart has awoken

You let me shed these tears when there before there was a drought

 

So for you, a sight as beautiful and unique as a single snowflake

Whose touch is both heavenly and healing

Stay with me for God’s sake

My angel, my one desire, you brought love into a heart that was once unfeeling
