Such as a parent dying and not being able to do all the wonderful things you had planned with them. That really eats you up inside ...

It's so very terribly difficult to get over loss. I am a firm believer of people who say they have g.. read moreIt's so very terribly difficult to get over loss. I am a firm believer of people who say they have gotten over the loss of someone, they have merely found a way to manage the pain - it never not EVER is truly gone. For that is what makes us human - and that is what binds us together as a species.
I think Captain Kirk explained it best in Star Trek Five, "The Final Frontier."
"You know that pain and guilt can't be taken away with a wave of a magic wand. They're the things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. If we lose them, we lose ourselves. I don't want my pain taken away! I need my pain!"
