Not Submissive

Not Submissive

A Poem by Silver Tree

No, I will not be controlled

On me censorship cannot be forced

To the patriarchy, this my challenge

Shouting is loud, but I hear only whispers

In this black feminist body

Sings a song that echoes

Shudder to think I can be

Invincible and

Very alive, not hidden in a different skin

Everything you wish I wasn't
