Reflectionless

Reflectionless

A Poem by Silver Tree
"

Written from the viewpoint of a possibly insane woman.

"

There are no mirrors in my house

He can watch me, a cliché cat and mouse

I don't know where he came from

but he will be there

To ask for a sum

Without a care for me

But how long can I live encased

Like a flower in a broken vase

Without seeing him, over my shoulder

And no longer seeing my face

Living with only the clock

Whose ticking is an unkind rock

To remind me of passing days

And all the ways I slowly slip away

They tell me he won't appear

As they hold me and put up a mirror

I scream, tell them of their folly

Told don't make such a bother

A bad dream begins, his eyes full of hateful jolly

And I told him I'd rather

Die now than live like this forever

An old piece, but I'd still appreciate critiques.

It's a bit vague but interesting, I like how you've ended the poem, great work!
