The End As I Know It

The End As I Know It

A Poem by SilverTearRusted

Ironic, yet fitting, in this day and age
Children killing children, cold-blooded, insane
Lost souls, lost races, no identity, no faces
Taking refuge in sinful, corrupted dark places

No shining light left up on this earth
We look to the heavens for a little self-worth
Misaligned values held in contempt
Draining my veins, our souls bending limp
No peace, no solace, no trickle of tears
All gone are the masses who once fought, now they fear

So bring me back to the place of my silence
Walk around in the thoughts of my sin
Seek the world through the shades of my darkness
Falling tears in the stairwell again

Run to the beauty of what can never be
Hatred, this fury, I am what you see
Lost context, rambled letters, scrambled thought, this disease
Feeding into the night air
Chilled passion arose from the calm, don't I dare?

I can and I will, for I am what you see
Patience's theory to practice, hold fast unto me
Unchained from the fear, threaten purpose, my life
So I went to the store and bought a gun and a nightlight
