Shadows in the night
Flashes in the trees
Illuminated by a full moon’s glow
The moon called
Children of the night
In all their splendor
Wind in their hair
Their songs on the wind
Howls
Laughter
Music
The chilled, dew-wet grass beneath their feet
The hulking shadows of the forest
And the brief space in the branches
Filled with silver light
Calling them ever onward
So is this silver orb ominous
Or exciting?
Is it helpful or hurtful?
Causing the mind, body, and spirit to separate
Leaving the primal
Feral
Natural instincts to take over
To hunt
To play
To run…
There is no better feeling
But I am biased
I am moon called
I am a child of the night
So my brothers and sisters
Pack-mates and blood bound
Raise your voices
Shed your reserve
And run with me
Let us sing
For the moon
And all it’s glory
