A Heartfelt PrayerA Poem by ElinaA prayer that I wrote in the style of a Pslam. I wanted to do something similar to David's prayers; crying out in sorrow and agony, and then wrapping it up by proclaiming the goodness of the Lord...O Lord, my God, hear my supplication! Lead me from my self-induced demise, and make me whole again. I have reaped double that wickedness which I had sown in my own heart. But, precious Lord, You are Mighty to save. I have fallen, Father; I've fallen so far into the mire; How can I ever escape? But you, O Lord, are Mighty to save. And you have lifted me from my prostrated position; You have lifted me from the infinite, silent darkness which had swallowed me. Blessed Redeemer, hear my cries of agony and repentance! Do not leave me outside Your Loving Kindness, but hold me close to Your breast and whisper, gently of Your affection for me, in spite of my defiled existence. Leave me, not, for without You, I am nothing! Do not turn Your back on Your servant, O Lord, for I am weary. How long must I cry out in grief and in heartache? When will You answer, my Guide, my Comfort? But, Most High, I am trusting You; I await Your command. I shall trust You all the days of my life. For You, Abba, You, alone, are my God. © 2013 ElinaReviews
