Drowning

Drowning

A Poem by Silver Hawke

Watching the waves crash ashore,

I can feel your whisper to me.

Everything I abhor,

Flowing from your lips.

Is it fate, Is it action?

We will never know,

For little do we expect

Change comes as quickly as breath.

With our last gasp, the final change comes.

A summer’s breeze will find us

Dancing on the shores with the rocks.

The red tide comes,

Bringing the final change,

The final gasp.

The final breath.

Very nice flow. I liked how your poem tells a story of your narrator's life with love on the beach, but all of a sudden he/she is taken from earth. Very sad, nice piece of poetry.

Smooth. And melancholy.
