Chapter 9- Royal TombA Chapter by MirageDreamerThey went back to Novado’s room and he took out a trunk from under his bed and said as he opened it, “We aren’t suppose to keep armor that isn’t ours, but when my parents died I just couldn’t part with these.” Then he took out silver armor, he had chest armor, leg armor and arm armor. Then he said as he handed them to Lunar, “These were my mother’s when she was young.” Lunar looked at him surprised then said, “Well if they were your mother’s then I can’t… it wouldn’t be right, I’ll just put on a cape.” “The place that we are going you need to be a warrior to get in, or part of the royal family, but we can’t let them know that you are the princess,” said Novado as he looked away from her, and held out the armor. Lunar looked at him then said, “Well then we just shouldn’t go there.” “We have to,” said Novado as he looked at her then took Lunar’s hand, then he put the armor in her hand and said, “Just put it on.” Lunar looked at him suspiciously, curiously, then she said, “Fine,” then put the armor on. Then Novado gave her a pouch and said, “Here you can put your things in this.” Lunar took it then put the Shadow, and her talisman in it, then tied it to a piece of armor that was meant to be a pack. Then she put on a black cape to cover the crown on her head, and the necklace. As she did that Novado put on his armor, then they left the palace. They walked in the opposite direction of the houses, and toward what looked like a fortress that was carved out into the mountain, when they got to the gate they were stopped by two guards who were wearing all silver and armor. “State your names,” said the first one who was a girl. She had long snow white hair that went half way down her back, and dark green eyes. “Novado, second in command of the palace guards, Lunar, second in command of the palace RF.” The girl and boy looked at them, “Novado of the palace guards, and Lunar of the royal force, you are free to enter,” said the boy. He had on the same thing as the girl, sandy brown hair, and dark green eyes. Then they opened up the gates, and Lunar and Novado walked in. On the other side there was bright green grass, and holes in the top of the cave, and they were positioned so that the light would shine straight down on tombstones. Each one was a dragon with a crown on its head, and holding onto a large crescent moon. They were carved out like statues, they didn’t even look like tombstones. There was a different stone in each of the crowns, and each dragon, moon, and crown was different from one and other, and at the base there was the name of the person carved out into stone. “W-what is this place?” asked Lunar as they walked in. “The royal tomb,” said Novado as he walked over to two tombs and motioned to Lunar to come over. Lunar went over and saw that on one was carved Queen Allura, ninety-ninth queen of the Dragon Kingdom, wife to King Seth, mother to Noch and Lunar. Born 4923 Died 4943. Doolafu talledu morra sallu. The other read King Seth, ninety-ninth king of the Lunar fell to knees then Novado said as the girl and boy came in “The last sentence ‘Doolafu talledu morra sallu’ it means: magic of the moon, soul of the dragon, bring them to the heavens, and let them rest in peace.” Lunar went over the last four words with her finger, and as she did silver tears began to run down her face. “Hey, Sorora, has the Prince been here yet?” asked Novado as they closed the gates. The girl looked at the boy sadly, then at Novado and said as she sadly shook her head “No, on the day after his crowning we went to him to ask when he would visit it and he said…” Novado asked “What did he say?” Sorora didn’t say anything then Novado looked at the boy and asked, “Clo?” “He said that he didn’t have time to be concerned with visiting dead people, he was too busy trying to restore the kingdom that they let fall,” said Clo sadly. As he said that Lunar stopped crying instantly, then looked at Clo and Sorora shocked, then she looked back at the tombs then clenched her fists and said as tears came to her eyes once again, “Th-that jackass, that stupid idiot, how could he say that, he’s done absolutely nothing for the kingdom. H-he’s just been acting like a child trying to do something that they are too young for.” Then she said as Clo and Sorora looked at her surprised, “H-he’s just a child, and th-the Council will pay for putting such a burden on him, and changing him into what he is now.” Then she looked up from the ground and looked at the tombs and said, “I’m so sorry, I’m sorry that I ever came here without him, I’m sorry that he’s acting like this, I-I promise I’ll change him back to normal.” Then silver tears started to fall down her face again. “Novado,” said Clo shocked then he added, “When you said that she was the second in charge of the RF you didn’t mean royal force did you?” Sorora went over to Lunar, knelt down and put her hand on her back, “I never said that she was,” said Novado, then he added “Will you please not tell anyone about her, if the Council finds out that the kingdom knows about her…” “We understand,” said Clo as he went over to Lunar and Sorora helped her up. Lunar wiped her tears away then said with a sad smile as she looked at the tombs, “Mother, Father, I promise that I’ll return Noch to his former self, and then we’ll come back.” Then she touched the dragon’s head on her mother’s tomb, and suddenly there was a flash, and Lunar fainted. “Princess,” Called Sorora as she caught her. ******* © 2011 MirageDreamer |
