Naruto and Midori finally arrived back at the training grounds after buying some toys, food and treats at the store for the puppy they had found on their way back from lunch. Sakura was waiting by herself at the training grounds and didn't appear too happy that they were late. "Where did you two go?! On a date or something?!" Sakura got up out of the grass and glared at Naruto. Midori stepped in front of him defensively and glared back a Sakura fiercely. "Back off. Its none of your business anyhow!" Midori growled at her challengingly.
Sakura took a step back in shock. Naruto also appeared surprised by her actions. She had snapped on Sakura for getting mad at Naruto. "You can go now Naruto. I have some training to do" she smiled at him over her shoulder. Naruto just nodded and left quickly. Midori heard him murmur "She's scarier than Sakura!". Midori smirked and put her new puppy in the grass. "Now, how about my Chakra training or however you say it." she asked. She walked over to the tree and set her bag of stuff at its trunk. Midori whistled and her little brown puppy ran up to her.
"She's cute. What's her name?" Sakura asked cautiously. Midori thought for a moment. The pup needed a name. "Kiki." Midori said. The puppy barked her agreement. "Kiki, I'll get you to stay by the supplies and guard them okay?" Midori said to Kiki softly. Kiki barked happily, then ran over to the bag and sat down completely alert. "Kiki's a nice name. She's really smart too!" Sakura smiled.
"Okay, Sakura. Can you start by explaining Chakra?" Midori asked curiously, anxious to get the training moving along. Sakura looked at Midori. "Right. Let's start with the basics." Midori and Sakura sat down cross-legged. Midori listened intently. "Chakra, the resulting energy produced when both physical and spiritual energies are evenly combined. Hand signs are used to harness this energy and expel it from the body, usually in the form of an attack. Different attacks use different combinations of hand signs. Only skilled ninja can manipulate their chakra to its fullest extent. There are many different types of jutsu; Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Doujutsu, and so on. They all require chakra from its user. The only exception would be Taijutsu. It requires no chakra at all. Attacks such as punches and kicks fall into this category because it is only a physical attack alone."
"As you train and practice your physical and spiritual energies grow. Putting the two energies together is called Chakra Molding. This means to extract energies from the body and spirit, then mixing them in your body. The amount of energy you need from each differs from the type of technique you wish to use. If you cannot mold your chakra properly, you may use too much at a time, which causes you to weaken faster." Sakura pointed out. Sakura then pointed out the power gates for each level of chakra. Midori sat and listened, making sure to remember everything.
"Now, try molding your chakra to your hand. Just concentrate until you feel the chakra inside you, then focus it all to your hand." Sakura instructed her. Midori was able to pick out a new sensation after a few minutes of silent concentration. A sort of power that flowed in her veins. Then she tried to focus it all to her hand. There was a powerful blue glow around her hand when she opened her eyes. "That's right." Sakura said, pleased with her progress. The powerful blue flame was big and lapped around her hand. A few moments flew by. "That's enough. You can take a break now. After that, you can just meditate so you can enhance your spiritual energy." Sakura sighed
"You can learn the steps tomorrow. Wait, the day after because we've got a mission." Sakura said thoughtfully. "Alright then." Midori shrugged and went over to where Kiki still stood alert. When she sat down Kiki jumped into Midori's arms. Midori fed Kiki and played with a small tug-of-war toy she'd bought. After thirty minutes past by, a boy with white eyes, pale shirt and black pants appeared in front of her. "Who are you?" he asked dryly. Midori looked up at him "I'm Midori. Who are you?" "Neji of the Hyuuga Clan" he answered. "My team needs to train." Neji said to Midori. Midori got up and locked eyes with Neji. "Oh, hey Neji. She can train down by the river." Sakura stepped up. "Alright." Midori nodded. She gathered her stuff and Kiki so they could leave. She brushed past Neji and followed Sakura down to the river.
Once there she placed her things by another tree and put Kiki down. "Train here. Sasuke should be here soon." Sakura said goodbye to Midori. Midori simply nodded in response and started to meditate. Only a few minutes past when Sasuke arrived. "Hey." he greeted her. Midori broke her concentration and looked in his direction. "I'm supposed to teach you how to use your weapons." Sasuke told her. He looked at Kiki, but said nothing. Midori got up and was ready to train.
