Ways of the EverlastingA Poem by Kristine FergIn the waves of a winding soul, the creature of life surrounds you. Cold, it beguiles those who step through the threshold to lose it.
It hovers still, reflecting its rays on heavy wanderers, such fleshy details, to the honesty bound in glue and string,
that in the wake of its ghost we hesitate, never wait for, with wearing diligance, we refrain with what remains,
For in the temptresses of all that we reach for, this destiny of fate we long for, wait upon, rest until our eyes grow old of our homes, and grow new, to the ways of the everlasting. © 2012 Kristine Ferg |
