An Ode To the Listener

An Ode To the Listener

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

If anyone wanted a word,

it was you.

yet you feed at the bits of nouns

and verbs without regard

until an acronym hits your tongue and eye,

lapping by your feet, but lies

away.

it fades with the phrase.

and until grammar fails you,

ripping up past knowledge

with your hands outstretched in wonder,

well,

who could write this, does one

begin to question?

who would dare make you think

of things beyond a page!

Why,

even the thought,

makes you ponder

why the end

nearly took so long.....

I'm just another person. Just like you; my art the object of knowledge in understanding who I am and how I am. And that, simply, is enough about me. more..
