Hounded By You

Hounded By You

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

Inspired by the Black Keys. My V-Day poem I guess?

I think I'm

hounded: so

astounded by you,

crushing my dreams, and turning

to a new leaf;

as you hold me, so consoling,

when you

try to run me, tryin' to kick me

out of this town,

get hot,

and heavy but maybe baby,

you're the one

who took all the signs down.

turning to a new leaf, ah,

oh how you console me,

try to hold me, try.

oh you're nothing but a fool to be,

heavy on the eyes,

but I could tell behind the fog

that I was so hung over you,

no one could ever put it best,

and you'd hear it less and and less,

so stout and proud of a nothing cause,

when you'd try to make arrangements

for the very last song

and you forgot you're

hounded; so astounded

by me,

you forgot it, baby,

and yet I couldn't stand it when ya--

kicked me out,

struck me down from every last town

and I know now, ohh I know,

you'll never figure it out.

I'm just another person. Just like you; my art the object of knowledge in understanding who I am and how I am. And that, simply, is enough about me. more..
