Dare, Cut My Honor?

Dare, Cut My Honor?

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

Rest in peace, my sovereignty,

you are best,

above the blade.

it gave me rest

to watch you ported,

until love, lest

a spade's a spade.

these words I've cut

in my palms, glistening

and shining with my love.

Opened palms I hold to ease you;

barren lands to come to call.

but with these words

I've cut in my heart!

They only bleed at my expense.

Dare to curtsy,

or dost thou haunt me?

With this glance,

I'd say yet again.

Dear departed soul betwixt me,

I can't bear this loathing weight.

If you'd care to break my honor....

Then I'd care

to show you the blade.

I'm just another person. Just like you; my art the object of knowledge in understanding who I am and how I am. And that, simply, is enough about me. more..
