Clenched

Clenched

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

Your eyes above the wall

glare sharp like daggers at my throat,

all to clench them in retraction.

did you hear in the bleating distance

a voice in my eyes that doesn't lie?

you left that light out in the fists you clench--

I can see beyond the glare,

and I'm scared....

you're done with love and compassion,

and find hypocrisy within your mind.

I hope there, you realize,

hitting her would be your fastest crime.

I'm just another person. Just like you; my art the object of knowledge in understanding who I am and how I am. And that, simply, is enough about me. more..
