You Went Away

You Went Away

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

Spring taught me a lesson
one that only left me crying
reaching for a sign to take me out
lead me from the road of hurting

and so many times in the distance
did I call for someone's name
but never got
and answer.

and even in the times--

I reach my hand out to you,
why does it slip and tumble?
Have we lost track of time
when the light turns off?
Don't go away, my love,
don't leave me here
alone.

I figured all I knew and wanted,
everyone would love like my mind told me,
such sweet blissful innocence....
something I no longer see, so have I
wasted all this time just trying to get by
or will it take me somewhere
with someone I
love?

so feel me reach my hand out to you,
knowing that I slip and tumble,
we have lost track of time
and never leave the lights on,
so you leave me here, alone,
because you went away.

About
I'm just another person. Just like you; my art the object of knowledge in understanding who I am and how I am. And that, simply, is enough about me. more..
