Writing Love Poems To Stay Afloat (There's a Hole in the Boat)

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

Mowing the lawns, I'm living in sight,
and I see a simple sign hanging to the side, reading,
"There are twenty houses going left and right", but
I can't find the sign....
it's broken down and weary
one hand wrote down wearing contemplations,
while one hand
wrote down the ties
to every city in the area now, and I
wonder to myself,
could it ever be let down?
tonight.

A whimpering creak is at my side,
hushing corners to derail it so
to let the governor out the door
to help his pride.....
but every corner leaves its mark in the other,
draining all the life and pain,
it's unsure any way,
but then today....

I'm just another person. Just like you; my art the object of knowledge in understanding who I am and how I am. And that, simply, is enough about me. more..
