Darkness

It engulfs me every moment of everyday
In my dreams I cannot escape.
Everyone says there is a light at the end of the tunnel,
but i know my tunnel is never ending.
I will never walk onto that vast land of light
where the golden rays of hope warms my thoughts
keeping them from the grave darkness that they've known.
If only they could see that hope
feel it.
but fear, anguish grips them
holding them down,
pulling,
pulling,
further into the darkness of despair and hurt.
rivers of tears flow freely
sometimes without a cause
other than that they are in the never ending tunnel
no hope of an end anytime soon.
